Since, I have started collecting coupons and playing the CVS game, I have collected a nicely filled pantry, as well as, bathroom cabinet. I certainly don't need to add anymore to my collection, but I can't pass up free to almost free items. So, I needed to come up with a solution on what to do with all these great items. I wanted it to be something that my kids could help with and become involved. We decided to make "Kids Packs" for the MidOhio Foodbank. The kids packs are to include healthy snacks, meals and toiletries. We decorate a box (paper box) every month and fill it with all the goodies that we have gathered throughout the month and take it to the MidOhio Foodbank.

This has been a great way for us to get involved, give back to the community and to teach my children to be thankful for all that we have.

August Goals

Some of you may have noticed that your grocery bills were getting higher and higher. I sure did! I knew that I didn't want to accept the change in our monthly expenses, so I got online and discovered some blogs on how to save money on your groceries. I never liked cutting coupons and thought it was to confusing, but thought I would give it a shot. Well, I am addicted! I can't believe how much I have saved and our food is better! My meals were so routine because I would get the same things week after week and I would spend around $100. Now that I am cutting coupons, I am planning my meals based on what is on sale that matches my coupons.

So, for the month of August, I want to spend $70.00 per week on groceries includes toiletries and household items. This should be hard because we eat almost every meal at our house.

I'll let you know how it goes and post my shopping trips along the way!

Hi!
I have been reading blogs now for a few months and I have learned so much that I thought I would start one of my own! I have always been known as a thirfty, bargain hunting, "do-it-yourselfer" and so I thought if I put my thoughts on a blog that maybe it can benefit others and provide ideas to others who are like me. I mean, I did get the idea to do a blog from others who are like me!

So, who am I? I am a 31-year old stay-at-home mom of two little boys! RJ is almost five years old and Cameron is three years old. I have a great husband, Eric, who works so hard for our family and I couldn't thank him more for giving me the opportunity to stay home with our little boys! Although, I do my best to stretch our money as far as I can!!

Eric and I have been married for almost eight years and have lived in Columbus, Ohio for all of them. It has been a lot of fun to watch the city grow and it is a great place to raise a family. I also am so lucky because my mom, dad and sister are here in Columbus, as well!

I have been staying home with our kids for about 2 years now and before that I was an Account Manager for a Healthcare Distributor. I sold laboratory instruments and supplies to hospitals. It was great job and a lot of fun, but it became to much for our family. Staying home was a great decision, but certainly life changing on all aspects.

Some of my interests include bargain shopping, decorating, cooking, snow skiing, vacationing and spending time with family and friends.
